CorMed-DX - The importance of CellAED devices around Headingley Stadium

The importance of having CellAED® devices around Headingley Stadium

the importance of CellAED devices

Leeds Rhinos have partnered with CorMed-DX.  to double the amount of life-saving defibrillators on site on a Rhinos match night at Headingley. The importance of CellAED devices is ensuring the stadium has the right equipment. Ensuring users can act fast in the event of a Cardiac Arrest.

Rob Oates – Commercial Director at Leeds Rhinos. Discusses the strategic placement of CellAED® devices around the Headingley Stadium. Plus  the partnership with CorMed-DX, and finally his experience of a Cardiac Arrest during a match.

Surprisingly, in the UK there are over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) a year – where emergency medical services attempt to resuscitate the victim. However, the survival rate is low – less than 1 in 10 people in the UK survive an OHCA.
Shockingly, every minute without an AED lowers the chance of survival by 10%.

Leeds Rhinos Headingley Stadium have several CellAED® devices. 1 is kept with the players doctor/medic at all times. An additional 3 devices are dotted around the stadium. Increasing the safety of all visitors, players and staff.

CellAED® is the world-first personal defibrillator, created to make AEDs (automated external defibrillators) more affordable and easy to use – for people with no medical training. Weighing just 300 grams and the size of a bar of chocolate, CellAED® can be carried with you or stored very easily.
